Rough Day....and night

I'm a little bit under the weather today, and had a bad night so I am not too energetic right now. Nothing serious....just some tummy troubles. I'm not sure I will have any art to show you today but check back in the evening. I might get creative!

I did get a nice package in the mail that cheered me up. Not long ago I was on a blog (can't remember which one!) and they mentioned a book about how to design a series of small art quilts. Something just said "check it out" so I followed the link to this blog and I ordered the book right then and there.

Here is the book....

And included in my package was a little something extra....

Now how nice is that!! The book is easy to follow and has very clear instructions even for someone like me who doesn't usually sew very much. I think it will be a great inspirational tool even if I never sew anything....but I think I might give her technique a whirl after the holidays when I have some time.

Quilting is an art form. I didn't realize it could take so many forms until I met all these talented Bloggers.Make sure to let us know how it goes..I envision you quilting some of your lovely art pieces with fabric..
Hope your tummy is soon better..xo

  3. Hi Janet, it was me that told you to check it out-I just got mine too and I just got back from JoAnn's where I purchased a large quantity of Wonder Under. Trying to resist the urge to get started until the holiday stuff is done....Hope you have fun-can't wait to see what you've done.

Sorry you are feeling under the weather, Janet, but can I say I love what you've done to your blog. The dancing Santa is so cheerful and the red background is so fun!

Thanks for the info on that book, it looks like something I'd be interested in.

  11. Janet I just now made it to you flickr site. Wonderful artwork! You have many talents. I was especially intrigued by the painting of the object that looks sorta like a gourd, but has a handle, and flowers around it, and a ribbon tied on, and it's blowing bubbles?? LOVE that one.

    Feel better soon! ((((healing hug))))
