Now on to more pleasant things. Many of you have asked about my little bee cursor and I apologize for not answering sooner. I got it here. They had all kinds of images to choose from so go take a peek.

My ideas are beginning to pile up on me! I've been reading this magazine and it always gets my brain whirling and twirling. I don't have a subscription right now because I'm waiting until we move so I don't run the risk of missing any!! I think this is at the top of my list of favorite magazines at this time. I love the cover on this issue that has Anahata's artwork.

Each morning about this time, I get a few minutes on the computer so I'll try to squeeze in a post....and I'm trying to get around to the blogs in the evenings but there are some nights when frankly I'm just too tired. It's such a drag having to keep the house in perfect order 24/7....especially when I'm not usually that kind of housekeeper! But if it gets the house sold then I'm willing to do it for a short period of time. Here's a photo of the living room as it is now....de-personalized!

That is the "swamp cooler" in the window....also called an air chiller. We have central a/c but out here where the humidity is very low swamp coolers sometimes work better to cool the house.
And here is a shot of the guest room....

As I get others, I'll share with you (if you're interested.)
Having the house neat and tidy all the time is ok but it's the "no art" part that's killing me!! I actually got so desperate that I started coloring in one of those geometric coloring books! Years ago I colored a bunch of those geometric-shaped designs in books using Flair markers....at the time they didn't have too many colors but I had turquoise, purple, hot pink, and lime green. I framed the designs and used them on my stairway as "art"....now I'm just doing them to keep what's left of my sanity!!

Hope everyone is having lots of fun and creating tons of things to inspire me when I finally get time to do art again. I'm thinking of you all and PROMISE to get by for a visit soon.
Ah, living in limbo can be tortuous!! Here's to a quick sale.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks terrific, you should sell this house quickly..!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to read that your cousin is okay..xx
Janet you are such a sweetie. I've been there. Just wanted so badly to have room and a block of time to do stuff and not have to worry about house showing stuff. Argh! I hope it is sold soon.
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping for a quick sale Janet and we can then see all your lovely art once more.
ReplyDeleteGlad your cousin is alright and my you do have a beautiful home... I also would be so depressed if I didn't have my art surrounding me...
ReplyDeleteYour house looks great!
ReplyDeleteI almost bought that magazine just now...but decided I need to keep doing my watercolors...
I'll peek at the cursors!
I like your little bee...I think if you copy the first code instead of the second one he would hover at all times instead of just at the links...
ReplyDelete:)
Are you sure you aren't a good housekeeper? Looks good to me! Get over here and do mine. No seriously, hope you are well, and don't worry about visiting...it is hard to keep up in this day and age. I only comment here and there now, even though I am reading them all.

Everything looks perfect. I know it's so hard living there and making it look like you're not. What's with that???? Don't make no sense to me! The American psyche, sheesh!
ReplyDeletePS So glad to hear your family is ok. Hope the headstones survived.
ReplyDeleteBTW sorry Janet but I have just tagged you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a caring person you are! :) Love the pictures and wonderful post! Thank you for sharing them!

Good luck selling the house fast! I know how much you love to create art. You made me thankful for my messy art places just as they were driving me crazy. Now I'm embrace the mess and be thankful that I don't have to keep the house that clean every day!
ReplyDeleteIt won't be long and you will have your space again.

Hi Janet: It is not small to think of the grave yard and the possible devistation there. It seems pretty normal to me. "Right" is another word I'd add to that. We can feel compassion toward the unknown, but those who are or have been real to us understandably do resonate deeper.
ReplyDeleteI love your pictures of your "unlived in" home. So, shall we say, picture perfect.
Just thinking about you and wanted to say hi. :)
ReplyDeleteDid you have the house professionally staged or do it yourself or just follow the advice of your realtor? I am not surprised your realtor told you it would be bleak! The market is a mess around here in Sacramento. And still the houses are selling for 3 times their value, in my opinion...Gee, I drop out of sight for a while and come back to find so many changes! Where is it you are moving? And didn't you just paint that craft room purple a while back? is this move sudden or a long time in the planning? Inquiring Minds want to know!
ReplyDeleteMy sister and I went to Greensburg today, more to provide moral support to our father than anything else. The cleanup crew bulldozed what was left on his property before he even had a chance to finish sorting through the rubble. Moms' computer survived, but when they "cleaned" the lot up, they crushed it. We also stopped by the cemetary, and besides a couple of tree limbs down, and the ever present tin that's everywhere, it was in great shape. I didn't see any stones toppled or broken.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear that your cousin and her family are all OK. I hope all is well on the headstone etc front also! I hope you get a quick sale on your house, Neil and Cesca are selling their apartment so are in total sympathy with you. Hope you had a lovely Mother's Day today.
ReplyDeleteHi Janet - glad to hear your family's okay, hope everything turn out to be alright with the headstones, too. Your house looks beautiful - hope it sells quickly for you.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a happy Mother's Day!
(and I hope 3rd time's a charm and this comment gets to you! Don't know what's up with computers and me lately)
Oh I know this scenario of keeping things spotless and simple
ReplyDeletenon-personal as I have sold 18 houses in all the years I have been married. Hubbys climb up the corporate ladder meant relocating many houses! One thing I always did was have ~fresh~ flowers throughout!Always sweet cinnamon spices ~simmering~ before a show.Who does not like the smell of Apple pie!
Wishing you a successful ~SALE~
