Beading and Thinking....

These are the three days when I'm not on the computer much (Fri - Sun) so this will be a quickie. Several of you had expressed an interest in my beaded doll so I thought I'd give you an update....

I'm almost finished with the front and have got a little bit done on the of that later.

And just because I like doing them, here's another quiz....

Your Dominant Thinking Style: Modifying

Super logical and rational, you consider every fact available to you.
You don't make rash decisions and are rarely moved by emotion.

You prefer what's known and proven - to the new and untested.
You tend to ground those around you and add stability.

I'm not completely sure this is me!!

  1. Janet this beaded doll is WONDERFUL !

I just got a flyer from San Gabriel Bead Co. that I think you might be interested in too....
Friday & Sat July 27& 28th they are hosting a trunk show at thier shop for Bigger Than Barbie - which is a film about Women Beaders in So. Africa overcoming poverty and AIDS thru art !

    more here too:

as soon as I saw your beautiful art doll I remembered the little flyer and wanted to share it right away with you !

    Love, S.

  2. I've been a sucker for quizes this week. This is the third one I've posted. I'm visioning.

  3. I LOVE it...each time you show it it's more and more fabulous (if that's even possible) You are absolutely inspiring me!!!

  4. The doll is looking fabulous, Janet!

Not too sure about ny quiz result either - I came out with "explorer" - which had some points that did and others that didn't, seem to mesh. Still fun though.

Hope you have a fun, creative weekend! ((hugs))

  5. your doll is really turning out fantastic Janet, I adore the bright and beautiful colours you're using..

    Im a ditzy thinker..very

Ohhh the doll looks wonderful! Thank you for the update! OUTSTANDING! I'm never sure if what they say about me after I take an online test is completely correct. Although some things are accurate, others just don't seem to fit. Anyway, thank you for sharing!

  7. Janet,

    That doll is really interesting!

What is it made of (the form) if you don't mind my asking!

  8. I love the beaded doll, Janet! You are doing such nice work with her.

I'm not suprised by the quizz either.

  9. Lovely beaded doll!

  10. Hi Janet!!!
WOW, I just think this doll is so you and really super! I love your choice of colors. I have a ton of those little seed beads, and I have never done one thing with them. Just the fact I can never find my glasses doesn't help either! You are an inspiration as usual. :)
Hope to post again soon. I've been so busy.
    Luv ya!

  11. Janet
Wow your work is stunning....really love this!!!

  12. Just droping in to catch up on your blog and to say Hi and to also wish you a great Sunday.

It is fun watching this beaded doll progress. It is so beautiful. But that would be because YOU are making it, right? RIGHT!

  13. Your beaded doll know! FANTASTIC! WONDERFUL! GORGEOUS! I love it!

  14. Anonymous6:07 PM

    Janet she is absolutly beautiful.

  15. Thanks for showing the beaded doll!
    She is comin along beautifully!

  16. This reminds me of Native American stuff that I've seen. Is this where this style of beading originates? I did the quiz and came out the same as you - some of the questions didn't have an answer that applied to me though so I just picked the nearest.

  17. WOWie! THe beaded doll is fantastico!!! That is a lot of work , girl! I love her colors!

  18. Hi Janet. I'm finally back on line. What a treat to find your gorgeous beaded doll here. I'm glad you took the time to post it. :)

  19. How do you decide what shape/form to use? I tried using Violette's shape and I ...well, maybe I just need to try again.
The beading is fabulous. She's very nice and colorful.

  20. The first time I seen a beaded doll, was one from Mexico. I had beaded a headband and a bookmark when I was a teen. She's really Lovely! Beautiful!

  21. Your Doll will be stunning when done...I bet you are hooked on beading. I can hardly waite for my first SS check. I may spend it all and crafting stuff.
    Big Hugs, maru

  22. Your doll is fabulous, Janet!!! To my eyes it seems to have a bit of a SouthWest flavor. So, that, combined with the shape, gives her a bit of magic and a healing quality. Thanks so much for showing her to us in progress... can't wait to see her finished!

You "rarely moved by emotion" ??? Nope, that's not accurate. The rest might be applicable. Maybe you could take the test again at a different time of day and in a different mood... see what happens then.

    Hugz, Robin

  23. Hi, Janet,

you have a amazing art doll. WOW.

You are so talented, in everything you do.

I like the quizes, mine came out as

I must agree with most of it.

  24. I love seeing the work you are doing on your doll Janet! You are such a neat beader too. It is going to be very, very special.

    Keep up the fantastic work!

  25. the doll is stunning, and the quiz fun, i also had a go. Refering to your previous post, have you tried doing corn on the cob, still in its green leaves, and also banana in its skin on a barbeque? both are popular in Zimbabwe, and delicious. I love to put chopped onion, mushrooms and a knob of butter in foil on the fire, yum.

  26. I absolutely adore the beaded doll. You must have so much patience.
I was also looking at your previous post about being so full of questions. That is very much how I am feeling these days. I can really identify.

    angels be with you.

  27. Janet...What a FABULOUS doll you made!!!!!!! The colors...beading.....all of it! :-)
    Great job Sweets!

  28. Janet, don't know what took me so long to get back to your blog, but I'm sure glad I did -- I adore your beaded doll - she is looking wonderful. I'll be coming back more often to enjoy your lovely work.
