Slim Pickin's....

In case anyone is wondering, I just haven't felt like writing anything....actually there hasn't been much to write about unless you want to hear about my exciting adventures lounging on the couch, or my other thrilling escapades of walking down to get the mail (mostly junk)....I tell you, I lead a fascinating life!! I even get out once in a while to buy groceries! Now how exciting is that!!

I can't say I'm feeling bad, just blah. Nothing to spark my imagination....although I did put some of my moleskine pages on my art blog recently. The link is over there on the right sidebar. And I've also been working on my own version of an altered book....I'm just drawing on the pages, right over the printing. I have a couple of those pictures on the art blog, too.

Hopefully something will spark my creativity again and I can get rolling on some ideas I have but until that happens I'm afraid it might be slim pickin's around here.

  1. Its ok Janet, we all go through those kind of days and weeks. I finally did some art on saturday and sunday but it had been a while. Its hard for me to be inside when its so pretty outside.
I know you will start back being creative very soon. Now I am off to your art blog!

  2. Since you are drawing, you are being creative! But didn't your Mother teach you not to draw on books? haha

  5. it happens to the best of us, Janet and when you produce you are just a producing whiz. Besides except for the sneezing (at least I'm sneezing) with all the trees it is nice to contemplate for a while too.

  7. Quiet days come along! I shouldn't be here at the computer myself...we are getting new carpet so I have to get all our "stuff" out of the way! Time to de-clutter!
    Have a good week!

  8. Oh Janet I soooo get what you're saying! I have had such a blogging lull the last two months. I am either painting or writing....but the two don't seem to jive lately. Somebody asked me how long it takes to do one of my paintings, boy it really depends on how prevalent my muse is! Nothing seems to be working so I decided to overhaul my blog a bit...of course that means a lot of reading to figure things out! I could do some spring cleaning but somehow it doesn't appeal to me! So you are not alone my friend. I am in the same boat with my car kind of out of commission. I have been borrowing a car and rely on friends to take me out. Somehow staying home is so much better in the winter when it's blistery out. As spring approaches I have a hankering to get my car fixed immediately! And I will soon I suppose! Chin up and divert yourself, soon you will feel that strong pull to write and create!

    Love and hugs Sherrie

  12. Janet, I went to your art blog especially to see your altered book pages. How kewl. I have an old book I've been wanting to alter..it's called "Freeing The Creative Spirit." I have not enjoyed the book at all but since it is about art I wanted to do something with it, especially because of the title. You have inspired me. I do want to ask, if you draw right on the pages, how does it affect the other side...and the next pages. Do yu glue any together to make them thicker? Help!!! Perhaps if I alter this book, it will be more interesting...LOL xoxoxoxoxo

P.S. I think the blogging drag is affecting a lot of people, not just you. Me, Froggy, Robyn, for starters!

  13. I am sorry you are going thru this slump, Janet & hope it will be over soon. Just going to your art blog is inspiring to me. I have sort of been on a roll lately. Then it is hard to find time to sit down & do art.

  17. Sometimes I think we can use our gifts to heal from whatever is holding us hostage. You can tell your story in your art...no matter what it maybe. Big Hugs, Mary
