Drinks, Anyone....

Even though it's been several days since I last posted, I still don't have much to show you. I did make another Calico Cat but it's on its way to someone and I won't show it until she gets it.

Last night I was sitting there in front of the tv, like a bump on a log, and I picked up my moleskine and sketched out a little cartoon-ish picture....

I drew the "face" shape first and then realized it had the shape of a martini glass so I just finished it that way. Not much art but it might make you smile. I named it "A Two Olive Martini"

Also I've been trying to work in my art journal some more. Nothing that I want to share right now but I am dabbling in it again. It keeps beckoning to me so there must be a reason. I keep trying and hopefully sooner or later I'll have some pages I feel are good enough to share. It's an art form that I'm constantly drawn to and I can spend hours online looking at our people's journals! Maybe that's why mine suffers....I spend too much time at the computer.

  2. I'm the same way with my art journal. I love to work in it but I spend too much time online looking at other people's artwork!

  5. Hi Janet! I'll email you with the link to the eBook in just few, no problemo -- sorry the kontact form didn't work right... Also wanted to say I'm so glad you are all safe and sound there -- thought of you when I saw the news about the earthquake and remembered how much living in San Fran used to drive me crazy with the constant moving of the earth :) So glad all's well there...

And I loooooooove your Two Olive -- she's beautiful. Would be fun to see a whole series for apple of my eye martini, watermelon mouth martini, etc -- :) hee hee...

    Lots of miracles to you!!

  7. It's so easy to get lost in cyberspace looking at all the cool journals and artwork out there - I know I spend an awful lot of time doing that too...come to think of it, guess I'm actually doing that right now, lol! Though I'm telling myself, keeping up with friends doesn't count in the 'spending too much time online' part - it doesn't, right? :)

Even though I'm not much of a drinker - I love that m-ART-ini of yours! So creative, Janet!

  8. It is fun. The main thing is that you enjoyed drawing it!
What is a calico cat? Is that like the cat drawing previously? Its very cool, I like cats. Your cats look nice. We have guinea pigs (very cute but they don't mix with art although I have sketched one of them before) although have been considering a cat but no time at the moment. Hope you are keeping well!

  19. Hi Janet,
Way cute drawing and it did make me smile! We have to keep an art journal for our Design and Composition class. That is hard for me to do.

  29. What a little delight you have shared...so cute and fun. Keep it up, you know that we love what you do.
My sister and I are doing a journal together. It will be a chapter book. When I am ready, I will share one or to pages at a time. It is a story about a a girl that has a very different life. Set in the 1890's. It has been fun to do the research. Sharon my sister lives in Kansas, so this is something we could do together on line.
    Big Hugs, Mary
