The Queen of Everything....or Maybe The Empress

I recently saw this on Tammy's blog and you all know how I love these quiz thingies!! Plus they sure help out when I don't have much to write about!! This one is fun....

You are The Empress

Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.

The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents,
beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home
decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.

The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

I tease HB that I'm the Queen of Everything but I guess now I'll have to change it to I'm The Empress!! He probably won't buy that either!

My collages for Collage Play With Crowabout were getting way behind so yesterday I finished two of them. The one for Week 4 was very late but I did it anyway. Here it is....

And here is the one I did for Week 5....

These are so much fun. I've never been good at working with a theme but this isn't exactly a theme....just images that you can do whatever you want with. I just wish I could figure out what will write on my pages after I paint them. Nothing works for me....I've tried Sharpies, several different kinds of gel pens, Micron pens, and even paint pens but nothing will write without clogging and skipping. It's maddening because I know everyone else writes on their pages! What don't I know???

  1. Oh Janet love your atc's do you have sparkling h2o's... Try writing out first and then painting...ask Violette she may know. I'll ask her tomorrow if I remember!

  2. Sherrie is right-a friend of mine makes these collages and she does the writing first before the page is painted or finished with fixative.
Obviously it has to be permanent marker. I like the fine line sharpies and the microns. I use the microns on quilt labels. Once they are fixed with heat, they even go through machine washings and dryers without problems.

  3. Love that 2nd card: "What is my place?" perhaps several lifetimes from now, I'll figure that one out!

  5. Heh. I got the Empress as well, except I chose the Dragon cards.

The second one reminds me of my "theme" song from Pippin: "Corner of the Sky."

  6. I'm pretty sure I am the Queen of Everything. It says so on my driver's license.
I always have trouble with the pen thing. I thought it was just me. Let's try that suggestion and hope we now become part of the ones who know. Love the artwork. Love it.

  7. Well, I do have a cup/mug that says the Queen Has Spoken! I think that sort of says who I think I am. I'm sure you are at least an Emperess! What is hubby thinking! He has to be impressed, surely!

  8. Your pages look great!

I can help you with the pens...but I need to know what type of surface you are writing on exactly. Gesso? Watercolor? Acrylic? Wet glue? Shoot me an email. I am the self-proclaimed pen master (do they have a tarot card for that?)

  10. Awesome artwork! Love the 70's one! :-)

I've had my head so far away from the art community and anything artsy...The collage challenges sound like fun.

Thanks again for your kind words as always. Everyone's friendly support means so much!

  12. OH, I love Tarot so will probably post this one on my blog too. Thanks ~ :)

Love your pages! I have used the fine Sharpies and they work fine, as well as the Pigma pens....maybe the paint you are using could be the problem?

I'm off to check out the Tarot link.

  13. Amazingly enough I came up the Empress also. I don't think of myself as that card. Think I'll go take the test again.

  14. Those collages are fun! You really re-created a 70's gal!
I found a new ultra fine black sharpie that is working for me...I know what you mean about finding the right pen. India ink pens (not the old-fashioned in a bottle) work well too.
I took the test, chose "chinese" cards...and I'm an Empress too...I almost always come out with the same result as you do...and I DID NOT choose purple as my favorite color (blue) so I was sure I would not get to be an empress...!
