I'm Usually Not Political on Here....

I'm not sure what your political views might be but my cousin sent me a link to a blog written by an 80+ year old woman who has a wicked sense of humor, a quick wit, and definitely a way with words....and some of them are not for everyone. Be warned! She might be offensive to some people but I found it hilarious and worth reading. Apparently I'm not alone as she is getting hundreds, and sometimes thousands of comments! If you're a McCain/Palin person you might not enjoy it as much but otherwise give it a peek at MargaretandHelen.

  1. Takes a lot of time to read all those comments. Yikes! She is becoming a famous phenomenon at 82 (or what ever age she is). I totally support her in her rant but won't comment because that site sells outsiders email addys and you get spammed forever. At least that was my experience once.

Anyway her political opinion is fairly polite compared to mine. Tee hee. Thanks for sharing it.

I look forward to the day she is on Oprah.

  2. Thanks Janet for poiting me in her direction.
As an Aussie it made great reading and I hope I am still making sence at 82 let alone writing a blog as well.

  6. What a hoot!
I agree with most of what she says. And whether the writer is 82 or not, I want to be like that when I grow up...LOL

  7. I didn't even attempt to read all the comments. Thanks for sharing - I love her!

  8. I saw the incident she wrote about. I usually don't get political either but GOP isn't known for their support of education...they prefer to get votes from folks like that who are clueless!
    Good One Janet.
    OK Now I'll be quiet!

  9. My Mother-in-law is 89 years young and she is sharp as a tack. She figures that she has lived long enough to have earned saying what she thinks. I think we could all use a good laugh when it comes to this election. I will be glad when it is over and done. No matter who wins, we have a long bumpy road ahead. I would love to share all my thoughts on this matter...but do not want to ruffle any feathers. Hugs, Mary

  17. Thanks for the link to Helen's blog.

I have taken a break from my blog, too. Just knitting 'til my hand hurt so much that had to go to physiotherapy.

  18. Gosh, that was funny..what a character! My mom who is 89 though is voting for Hillary..yes, she doesn't like McCain and she doesn't like Obama either...she wants Hillary and Joe(Biden that is...LOL)
Personally, I am still undecided, and can't say either one appeals to me either!!!
    Miss you Janet!

  19. Too funny, Janet - what a character! I have to admit, I read this a few days ago, and I'm so sorry - after clicking on her link, I became totally engrossed, ended up getting K to read it too - who then sent it on to several people, and with one thing and another, I never did get back here to comment till now! And now I've lost my point - except that boy, does she know how to make some points! She's as sharp as a tack, especially for 82.
On a slightly related note, did you read about the oldest absentee voter (she may be the oldest voter altogether, the reporter hadn't been able to verify) - the 106 year old nun at the Vatican who's voting for Obama? Not nearly as outspoken - well, she IS a nun, lol - but still inspiring in her own way.

Hope you're having a great week of painting!
