June is Here Already!

Can it really be June already? Didn't we just open Christmas presents a couple of weeks ago!! Yikes....the year is almost half over. At the end of 2009 I think I'll be happy with what I've accomplished with my art.

As of May 30 I completed the 30 Day Art Challenge!! There were some days when it was questionable whether or not I would but I finally made it. And I've still kept up my pace with the art journal. I just posted an update over on Artopia if you want to see all my work.

Today I'll just share my art journal pages here and my last art piece from Julie's class which was also my last piece for the challenge. I killed two birds with one stone!

May 29:

You know I have to do a purple page once in awhile!!

May 30:

"the purest and most thoughtful minds are those which love color the most." I must have a very pure and thoughtful mind if that statement is true!

May 31:

"we tend to forget that happiness doesn't come as a result of getting something we don't have but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have." Both of these quotes (this one and the one above) came from the internet....not from me!

And here's my art piece for May 30:

HB thought it looked like mist or fog with a light or a forest at night with the moon shining through. It should be clickable to view larger so you can see the texture.

I have not updated my blog list in such a long time! I hope to get that done in the near future.

  1. Aloha Janet,
I adore the purple hues of your art page and I agree, the greys set the stage for a misty forest.
June is special for you? Give HB a hug on the 24th..lol..
    peace, Kai

  11. The lavendar is really pretty but I especially like May 23 in your last post. I know it doesn't have any words but I love the design.
Your work is so peaceful. That page with the work that looks misty and foggy is great.
I can't believe the date either. Although I can enjoy the temps & flowers, I can't imagine where the last few months have gone.

  13. Hi Janet...I love all your new pieces...the purple one especially. I was taking a closer look at your blog and didn't realize that you have been blogging so long. It's almost one year for me. I wonder if I should have chosen Blogger or Typepad instead of Wordpress. I was struck by the story about your son. The picture and post about when your hubby hurt his middle finger at Lowe's cracked me up. Your blog is great, you should be proud because of that...plus, proud of what you are doing artistically...ok, I didn't intend to write a book :)

  20. These are wonderful. I love the gray silvery colours of your last work. What an excellent challenge. It shows just what one can do. I think I am going to take that up and write a piece everyday for a month. Not necessarily to post - just to get the juices flowing. After all inspiration is 99% perspiration, isn't it?

  23. Janet,

I really really liked the first and last ones - the purple one, and the very abstract one (I don't care much for abstract are but loved this!)
