But I did get up early and get my page done for today so here it is....
July 6:

Doing this page made me realize how silly I've been about exercising so out came the treadmill and I did 45 minutes. Now let's see if I continue. One day does not make an exercise routine!! I need to follow my own advice and "Just do it!" My biggest problem is I can always think of 10 other things I could be doing if I wasn't exercising. Why can't it be fun and enjoyable?!! And art related!
I just came from the gym. Good thing it's right across the street or it would never get done! It's also physical therapy for my back surgery. Walk, walk, walk!
ReplyDeleteI walk every day. Today was 6 1/2 miles. And by the end of the day, with all the other walking to the store and such, I will log over 10 miles. I try never to drive when I'm in Coronado. If I am really pressed for time, I'll ride my bike. I agree with Snap above: walk, walk, walk! And plan your next project while doing it!
ReplyDeletei am one of those who do not like the gym~too busy for a solitary soul! before i had m.e i would do 2 hours yoga a day. now we have our garden looking nice i was thinking of starting again with baby steps. i also went swimming again two weeks ago before i became a swine flu ridden heap! it felt so good i decided to satrt again twice weekly...when i am better of course!
ReplyDeleteGreat post. I always need a reminder. Now what was that again....e-x-e-r-s-i-z-e. Maybe later! Sharon
ReplyDeleteAn no I ment to spell it that way. If one doesn't exercise one gets extra-size. LOL Of to the dreadmill, I mean treadmill.....Sharon
ReplyDeleteMe too...At least I have to walk with K now - though we're walking kinda slow - but I figure at least I'm moving, lol. Glad you had a happy 4th!
ReplyDeleteI just rejoined Curves.. I don't like exercise.. but I constantly worry about bone density... and I have my 'new' vinatge push bike.. named her Daisy Lupin... and off I go! - enjoy the big cleanup.. I have been doing that too!! it feels so good.
ReplyDeleteAloha Janet,
ReplyDeleteI have to walk the puppies before I can get anything done! Those big, brown eyes are the best guilt trip on the planet to make me exercise..lol.
peace, Kai
Hey Janet.
ReplyDeleteTreadmills are a killer I reckon I would much prefer to walk outside armed with my trusty camera looking for inspiration.
I laugh when people jog past me -it reminds me of something a friend said once "jogging stuffs up a good walk".
Yes I think exercise helps clear our mind and get all the clutter out. I need to get back to the program also..I needed to read this , so I can get back and declutter my brain..LOL>
ReplyDeleteKatelen
I hear you about exercising. I did ride my bike a good bit last week and hoof it around the garden too.
ReplyDeleteI Love the journal page. I have to get back to my art too. Been a little lazy in that department lately. Have a terrific tuesday.
xoxoxo
Fun new place Janet. I haven't visited in awhile, but I have been visiting your Flickr often. Nice creating you've been up to!
ReplyDeleteI quit exercising awhile ago. And I have a beach to walk on. Duh me!!! Well, it's too hot! xoxoxo
Janet, you are thwarting my efforts to sit here reading blogs instead of going for a walk! I have no excuses. It's so cool and sunny here this morning and now you've gone and motivated me. Thanks? :)
ReplyDeleteGood for you for reaching inside your artsy self to find the motivation to exercise! That's fabulous! :)
ReplyDeleteI ran for 20 years, but a coupleof years ago, I had a really bad injury which prevented me from running for more than 6 months. I just never really got back into the routine, and so, for the past 2 years, I've been very sedentary. As a result, I gained about 10 lbs, which on my 5'4" frame looked and felt prretty bad. At the beginning of the summer Ava and I started walking twice day for 40 minutes at a time; now we're up to an hour and 10 minutes each time, and we both look and FEEL so much better. I no longer beat myself up because I can't run a 10 minute mile; I'm just proud that I'm being consistent and doing something about my health. Some people like a solitary workout, but for me having someone to exercise with keeps me accountable and just plain makes it bearable. (After all, here in Georgia it gets up to at least 95 every day. So you go. girl! I love the new look pf your blog, btw.
ReplyDeleteXOXO,
Alberta
How coo l is that! Your art made you see the 'light' on exercise! WEll, i am getting plenty between the biking and now the kayaking! You are so great with getting your art in every day!
ReplyDeleteAre you sore today?
ReplyDeleteI don't excercise much in the summer. It's too hot. We used to have a treadmill that took up alot of space. lol
Now it's taking up space in my daughters house.
But I know you need to move it or lose it. So good for you!
