Exercise Is a Four-Letter Word!

Lately I've been in such a groove about my pages. I'm even getting them posted each day so you don't end up with one post and tons of photos! Today I am beginning a couple of big clean-up projects around the house. Things I've been putting off for way too long!

But I did get up early and get my page done for today so here it is....

July 6:

Doing this page made me realize how silly I've been about exercising so out came the treadmill and I did 45 minutes. Now let's see if I continue. One day does not make an exercise routine!! I need to follow my own advice and "Just do it!" My biggest problem is I can always think of 10 other things I could be doing if I wasn't exercising. Why can't it be fun and enjoyable?!! And art related!

  1. I just came from the gym. Good thing it's right across the street or it would never get done! It's also physical therapy for my back surgery. Walk, walk, walk!

  2. I walk every day. Today was 6 1/2 miles. And by the end of the day, with all the other walking to the store and such, I will log over 10 miles. I try never to drive when I'm in Coronado. If I am really pressed for time, I'll ride my bike. I agree with Snap above: walk, walk, walk! And plan your next project while doing it!

  8. Aloha Janet,
I have to walk the puppies before I can get anything done! Those big, brown eyes are the best guilt trip on the planet to make me exercise..lol.

  9. Hey Janet.
Treadmills are a killer I reckon I would much prefer to walk outside armed with my trusty camera looking for inspiration.
I laugh when people jog past me -it reminds me of something a friend said once "jogging stuffs up a good walk".

  13. Janet, you are thwarting my efforts to sit here reading blogs instead of going for a walk! I have no excuses. It's so cool and sunny here this morning and now you've gone and motivated me. Thanks? :)

  15. I ran for 20 years, but a coupleof years ago, I had a really bad injury which prevented me from running for more than 6 months. I just never really got back into the routine, and so, for the past 2 years, I've been very sedentary. As a result, I gained about 10 lbs, which on my 5'4" frame looked and felt prretty bad. At the beginning of the summer Ava and I started walking twice day for 40 minutes at a time; now we're up to an hour and 10 minutes each time, and we both look and FEEL so much better. I no longer beat myself up because I can't run a 10 minute mile; I'm just proud that I'm being consistent and doing something about my health. Some people like a solitary workout, but for me having someone to exercise with keeps me accountable and just plain makes it bearable. (After all, here in Georgia it gets up to at least 95 every day. So you go. girl! I love the new look pf your blog, btw.

    XOXO,
    Alberta

  17. Are you sore today?
I don't excercise much in the summer. It's too hot. We used to have a treadmill that took up alot of space. lol
Now it's taking up space in my daughters house.
But I know you need to move it or lose it. So good for you!
