The Philanthropist and Engelbert Humperdinck!!!

You know I don't watch a lot of TV and I seldom comment unless it's about "Lost" but recently I've been watching a program that I think is pretty interesting. It isn't perfect but I like the premise. It's called The Philanthropist and is on NBC. If you haven't seen it maybe give it a try. You can also watch it here. I like it because they bring many of the world's problems to the forefront and the website offers suggestions about how each of us can get involved and help make a difference.

And now I'm here to show you my latest couple of pages....the one from yesterday (I finally finished it last night) and the one for today.

Unfortunately the number 30 doesn't show up too good. And if you aren't as old as dirt like me then you won't know who Englebert Humperdinck is....and yes, that's his name! I spelled it wrong on my page but that's ok. I don't think he'll ever see it!

It's back to being hot here and I think we might even have a little humidity today....yuk! So I'm outta here! I'm going to lounge about on the couch and eat bonbons and read a book. I hope where you are it's cool.

  1. I love 'The Philanthropist'...it's a wonderful show and brings important issues to the forefront! As a 53 year old woman I do know who Englebert Humperdink...my Mom loved him and aslo Tom Jones and I heard that music playing all the time at my house! Thanks for the fun memory!!!

  2. I love "The Philantropist" too... and thought that it portrayed the problem in the country I know very well. But beside all the important things - don't you think that he is cute? I do.
You're lucky to have realized it at 30... it took me a bit longer. Love both pages. Lovely colors and energy. Stay cool. xo

  3. I 'm almost as old as you janet...lol and yes I used to love dancing to his records... I had the last waltz with you... what a beautiful tune... rermember him well! we dont have the show here thought. Will have to take a look for it thru your links.

  4. I like your journal pages. It is raining here and it is nice.

  5. I try to catch that show. I like the whole premise of it too. I also love your step out at 30 and the bon bons and the laying around on the sofa. Your my kind of gal. From another "older than dirt" Sharon

  6. I remember Englebert Humperdinck! WooooooHooooo! I like the Philanthropist (if seeing it once counts!). Pages were great! Love the color.

  7. I used to make fun of my mother for liking Englebert and Perry Como and Johnny Mathis. (Actually, I guess I still do.)
Thank you so much for the lovely card. It was here when I arrived back from Ventura last night. If you want to be cool, no, make that cold, that's where you need to go. I about froze to death while there. I, of course, did not take anything warm to wear because it never occurred to me that the weather would be so not summer-like.
    Anyway, love the pages.

  8. Janet,

I will have to check it out, I mean the philanthropist. Oh I remember Englebert Humperdink. For the life of me I can't rememeber any of his songs though.

  9. I love your take on the yin & yang symbol.. the colours are brilliant.

  10. Hope the boon bons and book were delicious!
Being ourselves, "free" is wonderful if we can enjoy the consequences!

  11. As a young innocent girl I remember thinking that Engelbert Humperdink had a nasty last name...

  12. OH, love the pages! Espiecally your "ah ha" page. And I remember good ole Englegert. Not that I am old as dirt, lol, but my Mom drug me to all his concerts and he was mighty fine looking too(still is).
Mom bought the Neil Diamond DVD from his World tour this past year.
It is AWESOME! Also comes with a CD with all his hits. Only $12 for both at Wallys. It was filmed at Madison Square Gardens last summer.
I still like all the older singers, but I have always had a thing for older men! lol.
    Stay cool today, Janet!

  13. Ohhhhhhhh....again, Janet, we love the SAME SHOW...*smile*..The Philanthropist is always getting into some melee~! And, the loss of his son brings him so close to the children...Great show...Your pages are GREAT...Love the Yin/Yang one! Yes, I have to admit that I loved Engelbert, too!
    ((showing my age, too)
