Red Rosin Paper....

I had a busy day today. We drove down to Burbank so HB could catch his flight then I came home, stopped at Lowe's and bought myself a roll of red rosin paper. If you don't know about it you can check out Zorana's blog. She has been using it lately and even made some journals from it. I got a huge roll....I think it's 36"x500' and it was about $12. That's a lot of paper!

Here's the first piece I did using it. I just whacked off a hunk....I didn't measure or anything. I used some gesso and then did a watercolor background and then added my gal. She looks much better in real life. The scanner seems to make her look weird and somewhat darker than she really is. I think she might be about 8"x8"....

  1. Oh I love her! I love the different colors in her face. I've never heard of that paper. I'll have to check it out. I got to play yesterday, too. Felt good!

  3. I'm not familiar with that paper...will have to check it out. Is it a smooth or rough paper? Love your painting on your new paper...great use of color! Nice journal page too!

  13. It has been said that you learn something new everyday, and it can be so. Never heard of this Red paper and now I want some. I love the colors...she made me smile.

  14. My hubby has always had a roll of this stuff on hand, and to think the perfect art paper
    has been in front of me this whole time. I am going to have to give it a try…
