I must say having HB here all the time is proving to be a great help as he's jumping in and doing all kinds of things. And he's doing quite a bit of cooking which I love!!
This morning, even though I had house stuff to do, I went to the studio and messed around with a scrap of cardboard I had started painting. I layered lots of paint, a scrap of fabric, some tissue paper, masking tape....well, you get the picture....

I apologize for the quality of these photos! I couldn't seem to get any of them to come out very good. The colors are much brighter and more intense than they show here so use your imagination!
As I stood looking at the background I saw a woman appear....

And I painted her to look like this....I seem to be seeing pink hair a lot lately. Hhmmm! Maybe I should think about dyeing....NO, wait....that's not for me anymore!! I'll just keep my gray!

And here are some close-ups....
Have a fun day....

Janet, your girl is so Pretty! I love the background, she looks so happy there! And that nose is perfect for her! What fun to see your painting process!
Really nice, Janet!! It is so interesting to see how you pull forms out of the painting. Good for the reader too..because I try and see the shapes too. Fun!
You are too funny! I'm loving your girls and their pink hair.
Now Janet I would not be at all shocked to see you with pink hair...now blue is out of the question LOL! Love your colors and think the lady is great. Sharon

Your art is so wonderful..All those classes you have been taking is really working for you..
I love pink hair!
I used to have purple and blue hair, but that was 25 years ago, Maybe in another 10 I'll go there again.
You are on a roll...love your pink-haired girl! I think I'm getting back on track now after a little lull...Cheers!
So much texture and color. I love it!
Its so amazing how you can actually see the Pink hair girl. At least I could when I looked at the second one and then looked up at the first with just the paint.
I think you would be cute with any color of hair! lol. Love your ART!

Hi, i've been enjoying your paintings, it seems so much fun. For me, you've found your style... they all look great and unique.
Just found your site - And, oh!, the pink hair is just too cool! - Looks like something my musician son would come up with - not for him, but he suggests things like that for me. Yikes!

This looks like you are having fun. And that is what this is all about. I love the pink hair, and all the background is perfect. Love those curls...Your, Mary
Pretty in pink! I like her nose especially. I wonder if there'd be less plastic surgery if we all felt free to paint our faces any way we wanted? What an interesting world that might be...
I love this - especially her nose. LOL Do you know - I even like the digital 'collage' you made to show the close-ups - that looks fab!
I love her. Verrrrrrry pretty!
Maybe just a streak of hot pink?
OK light pink then....
:-)
You know, I SO admire that you are able to be so bold. I love color -- I wear lots of it. But my art isn't that bold. I think I get a bit afraid. This is great.
She's amazing and aren't YOU clever?!! I think of my Mum re. the pink hair because, lately, her fad has been to put lipstick, yep, you read that right...LIPSTICK in her hair and it gives her hair a pink colour. She dabs the lipstick on in certain areas and then smooshes it into the hair.....it isn't sticky and works just like a dye except it can wash out ~ :)
She is great...and I think Pink has gotten ahold of you. LOL
