Journals and Art and Fun....

Yesterday was a studio day. I got the signatures cut, sewed and glued together for some new journals but forgot that I have to let the glue dry overnight so I will finish them today. I also made a 16 page booklets using Teesha Moore's instructions. You can see it here. And I painted the front cover of it this morning.

So as promised, here is a little bit of art....

I think I need to work on her dress a bit more. For some reason it reminds me of a basketball jersey!

My classes are all finished for now except for the final chat with Mystele that is scheduled for this afternoon and again in one week. I think I came away from her class with such a different approach to my art. If you ever have the chance to take her class I recommend it. It is not a technique-teaching class....she doesn't teach you how to paint like she does. She teaches you to find your own voice which is so much better because then it's original and not just a copy of what someone else is doing.

Ok, back to the studio to finish the journals....have a happy day and remember to smile at someone!

  1. Hi Janet, I am back from the mountains and furiously trying to catch up. Your new work is lovely and the dress is okay it goes with her. I just discovered making booklets, albums and journals and it is fun. I have to find something to focus on (lol)

  8. She's just great! And it's funny you would say that. When I walked at the park today, I thought I should try to smile more. I smile when I meet another walker...but how about just smiling for myself. I had to make an effort! lol

  9. I'm still peeking in now and then, when I have time. Don't always comment, but have really really enjoyed the journey and evolution your art has taken since I first came across your blog. It's all beautiful and breath-taking. Love this piece!!

Hope you and your hubby are doing well and ready for the holidays! They'll be on us before we know it.

I miss art...and all of my artsy bloggy friends. Unfortunately for now, being a mommy is taking up all my time.

    Take care

  15. Janet, Thanks for the link to that journal. I thought I had seen everyione of teesha's videos but I missed this one somehow. What an inventive idea. I only had cold press paper but that worked fine. Now that my paper is cut I need the time to sew it. Such a fun easy idea.
