My Computer Died....

Hi Everyone....

It's been awhile since I posted and I thought I better tell you what's been going on. For starters HB and I have been furniture shopping and since we have completely different taste in things it's been an experience!!! And we still haven't found anything we can agree on.

Second, we have been giving the house a thorough cleaning top to bottom in preparation for the holidays. HB's daughter and granddaughter are coming over from AZ to spend a few days with us over Thanksgiving.

And third, my desktop computer died! It's where I do everything so for a bit my blog may not have too many pictures....actually it probably won't have any! I only use my laptop for browsing the web. I really don't like typing on the laptop keyboard so I always did all my comments and emails on the desktop....now I have to get used to the laptop and it's a pain!

So that's my sad story....LOL! I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Eat lots of turkey and goodies because it's only for one day!

  2. Janet,

Oh I love my laptop, once you get used to the keyboard you will be fine. I love that I can sit on my couch with my feet propped up looking outside at my bird feeders and travel all over the world on the net.

Now it'd be perfect of I had a wireless printer but alas I do not.
so I have to go hook it up once in awhile.

  3. Oh, why yes, there are times where a laptop has its purpose...but so far I'm just not that brave to find out. Hope you can get the computer that you need!

And here's wishing you a Very Happy Thanksgiving! - Yum!

  7. I'd wondered where you'd been. New furniture is fun but I know the pain it can be as we just got a new couch and loveseat, we bought one and hated it when it arrived so switched it for a leather one, it has been five months altogether but we have it here in time for the holidays. STW I don't like my laptop either.

  8. Buying furniture isn't fun in any manner imho but getting to where two tastes agree is ...ugh. My dh says Oh let's go out and get x,y,z. He really has no clue. It's not like going to Target for new underwear.

I am on a (new) laptop while Apple determines what is causing my iMac to seize up. It's still under warranty, but I want that 24" screen back! to a new improved computer for you Janet.

  11. Oh Janet, I understand it all too well. When one of us needs a new computer, we just go get one. When we need furniture, it takes 6 months of trying to find something we both can agree on. When we travel I try to use hubby's laptop one, but I get frustrated and just end up going to the business center in the hotel! Have a delightful Turkey day week-end.

  14. Furniture buying is hard...Arney and I cannot shop together for living room furniture. So when I bought my new sectional, my daughter and I went together. Arney cannot picture the furniture out of the show room for some reason.
I am so sorry about your desk top, that is what I have. You will get used to the laptop, at least that is what my sister says. When this dies and that could be at any time. I plan to have a laptop instead.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family....Love, Mary

  15. Happy happy thanksgiving, Janet! I'm sick in bed watching daytime TV all day....did you know the average Thanksgiving dinner is 3000 calories? Crimany...I have a stomach ache already. BUT I am sure I'll save room for a second piece of pie.

  17. What a bummer about your desktop computer. I hate the keyboards on laptops too but my sister said that you do get used to it...to the point where a desktop keyboard feels awkward to use.

I hope you and HB have a wonderful Thanksgiving with family!

  22. Hi, Janet -- Maybe it died for a reason -- like, to get everything else done! It's good to check back with you -- I'm finally getting my blog groove back, and I didn't want the day to go by without wishing you a (belated) Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for all your kind support, comments and visits to The Gypsy over the year. And, for inspiring me with your art! Onward to the next holiday -- and maybe a computer?
