Feelin' Groovy....or Great!

Hi to all you gorgeous people!! For some reason I'm in a particularly GREAT mood this morning....feelin' groovy....don't ask me why because I don't know! But I woke up feeling great and it just keeps hangin' in there with me. Maybe today I'll be sitting in Schwab's drugstore in Hollywood and some movie producer will discover me! Oh, wait....that already happened to Lana Turner. (Anyone under the age of 50 probably won't know what the heck I'm talking about!!) Or maybe those guys from Publisher's Clearing House will knock on my door and tell me I'm the winner of 100 trillion dollars! No, I'm sure that won't happen. Oh, well, whatever it is I'm feelin' good today.

I made some art yesterday and that always makes me feel good. I don't plan out my pages in advance. When I start with a blank page I usually just slap some color on it just to get rid of the white. From there I start looking for things that will fit with the colors I've put down. And then after I've added all the collage elements I'll start thinking about words. As you know, sometimes there are no words on my pages. A few people seem to be very confused about that....why I don't write something on each page. To tell you the truth sometimes I'm happy with the page just for the art of it and I don't think it needs words.

Yesterday, however, I did use words....

February 3:

The girl on the left has my own words on her....the other two have quotes. I put the title on first and I hope no one is offended by it. This page almost fell into place on its own. I love when that happens. I might add one more short quote on the aqua girl just to use that blank space but so far I haven't found the right one.

So that's about it for today....I hope you are all feeling groovy today, too. If not, then make time for playing and doing art. That always makes me feel better. Whatever you do, make it a good day....

What a great page and a GREAT subject matter. It is so wrong to hate someone for the color of their skin or their race or religion. I could never understand that logic.

I love learning about other peoples culture and beliefs, it would be such a boring world if we were all alike.

And I hope something really good happens for you today.

    Hugs

  2. I like this page too!
Love the quote about the soul taking on colors of our thoughts!!

And though I love words, I agree, some pages do not need words!

  4. sometimes, words are not needed. I understand completely.

your day of feelin' groovy sounds brilliant!!

as to the way you create each page.. I do believe that when you are choosing what colours etc to use.. it is really your spirit talking to you because to me your spiritual self speaks through your journal pages xoxo (does that makes sense?)

  5. Extremely cool, Janet, and I love that background. I have "happy" days like that too--like something's going to happen, but you just don't know what--usually, nothing happens, but it's still a nice feeling.

  15. I love this page! The silhouettes and the colors and the quotes - they really do all flow together beautifully. I felt great all day too. Maybe it's going around! lol
Actually wouldn't it be interesting to see what might happen if everyone in the world woke up feeling good and had a great day, all on the same day? That might be a real game changer for the planet...
Glad you had a great day!

  17. Janet,

You know I love all your pages but geez girl this one is awesome. I love the idea of 3 silhouettes, I may have to steal that from you. Writing on all of them was pure genius too! You are just rockin out the art lately. Doesn't this feel better than that dry period.

I hope I catch your good feelings today...

  21. Glad you are feelin' groovy! LOL I love this art you did! I haven't visited much. Sometimes have trouble pulling your blog up at work. So it was nice to see this today. Will try to catch up on your blog. Been busy with life, school projects, etc. I am into trees right now. Hope to post some of them soon but don't hold your breath. LOL Did mosaics hearts with church friends today & that got good to me. I have created a lot of art today so that made me happy. It was relaxing & theraputic for us today.

  22. The news is so filled with hate for how someone looks, religon, what party you might belong too, it is all so hard. I have always thought that we would get better, that we would reach out to each other as a nation, but one by one I see the door close.
This is a great post Janet, you do ROCK, and I do know what you mean about having a really good feeling day. Happy everyday, Mary

  23. Art conveys a message without words so I like that you sometimes don't add anything to the page. This one is perfect and the words are spot on.. Nicely done Janet.
