These were a lot of fun to make and mostly I used the cardboard from packaged foods as the base. I tried to keep these postcards fairly flat (not too much added to make them thick) as many of them are going out of the country. Mainly I just painted, stamped and collaged. Do you think they're too plain? Group 4 and 5 had spray painted backgrounds and I went over that with a light wash of cream to take them down a bit. I hope the recipients like them.
I'll be back tomorrow with my journal pages. I don't want to overwhelm you with photos!!
Hi Janet,
ReplyDeleteI especially like Groups 1-3 with the birds. Well, duh. Me loving birdies and all. Love the teals and reds you chose as well.

Love them...they are wild and crazy and just right. I love those birds on a wire, and the red and teal. I just returned from a Dallas excursion...Went to my two favorite stores in the "fancy" mall. Anthropologie and Paper Source. Wish you'd been there! Photos later today.

ReplyDeleteI am sure who ever gets these will be very delighted and happy with your art.
What a great idea creating postcards on cardboard!
I like them all, but I am crazy about group 2! These postcard are fabulous, Janet.
ReplyDeleteDearest Janet,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the beautiful postcard! I have almost forgotten the thrill of getting something wonderful in my "snail" mailbox. I am sure my Dutch postie must wonder what all of this lovely mail art is about.
Groetjes from Holland :-)

Wowee! These look like fabulous cards! :D

Yay! I got the last one and I love it. It now hangs on my Vision Wall with other inspiring things! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteOh! I love the painterly-ness of your cards, and esp. the black, white and red - I love that combo!
ReplyDeleteI really love these cards. There is so much layering and detail. Using food boxes is a great idea! I didn't think of that, but they are the perfect weight and stiffness. Great colors, too!
ReplyDeleteOooooo! I'm so excited! I got the top postcard from group 5 and I love it!!! It's definitely perfect! I love the spray paint but the best part of it all is that you ended up painting that white over it... it makes it have this great translucent texture!!! It is sooooooo beautiful!!! Thanks so much!
