A Zentangley Drawing....

Believe it or not I actually did a little art yesterday! But it was just a zentangle drawing in my large moleskine....still no painting....

This one began with that square which is a stamp. I like starting off with a stamped image. It gives me a jumping off place.

***********************************************

wearing: a sweater and jeans....it's chilly and damp today
smelling: HB is cooking breakfast....a veggie omelet
thinking: that I am way behind in blog visits and emails again
reading: The Rossetti Letter by Christi Phillips
doing: started my family tree on ancestory.com

I'm going to try to get out of this painting slump today even if all I do is paint some backgrounds. Stay tuned for more!

  6. Hi Janet.
Zentangles are so much fun!I like them because it is almost meditative as you draw lines and angles and swirls. Yours is very nice BTW!

  7. that's more art than i've done lately....i'm into the sewing and crochet right now...

but I must say that looking at your gorgeous drawing/sketch makes me want to grab my art journal and pens and head upstairs to where my hubby and son are playing video games and draw there beside them!

you are so inspiring to me!

    thanks a bunch!

  9. This is gorgeous! I love the way you started with a square but then all the lines come off at every angle. Very nice! I'm making a reading list, I'll add this book to my list! Thanks! ♥

  11. Ooh - there's nothing like a spot of zentangling to refresh the creative spirit. Lovely doodling there, Janet - now you're giving me the zentangle urge - stop it!

  13. You do this type of art so well, I think that is a good idea to use a stamp for a little inspiration.
I'm VERY curious about the ancestry thing, let me know how that turns out.

  14. You know what's funny, i didn't end up drawing last night, although you planted an inspirational seed in me with your zentangled sketch! but I thought about your work the entire time I was sitting on the couch crocheting more pink tea cups!

I did get my art journal and pens out....they sat beside me the entire time!

    something's brewing!

    thanks again for your visit!

  16. I'm off to an artists retreat on Thursday and taking some painting (as in painting papers for texture, backgrounds.) Can't wait. Maybe it'll give me the impetus to do a journal like yours!

    Nice zent!

  17. Oh that is gorgeous. You do those so well. I really need to learn how to do that. I was thinking I should be doodling or journaling yesterday while I watched the golf tournament all afternoon...but I didn't.
