There was one rose blooming right up until the snow covered it. I thought it looked brave but tired as if it just wanted to give up.

The patio table and chair won't be much good for sitting outside today....unless you want to have some hot chocolate and enjoy the snow.
Not only is the song wrong when it says it never rains in Southern California....it also snows!! We have about 5" of the white stuff and it looks beautiful. And because I did my errands yesterday, we don't have to get out in it which makes it even better.
I'll have more photos over on my photo blog....link on the right side of this page.

Wow! Janet...we haven't had any snow at all yet which is unusual here because by now, we at least have a little dusting of snow. Was this a first for your area? Amazing!
ReplyDeleteMary
Well I never thought I would see you doing a snow post... Strange world we live in now days! Enjoy the view. I am sure it wil melt soon.
ReplyDeleteLove your snow photos. That's just the kind of snow I like. Looking out at it while I am warm and cozy inside. And then seeing it melt the next day.
ReplyDeleteUm..well we don't have any snow at my level just RAIN and more RAIN which I am getting a bit sick of it, the water has no place to go too, the ground is overly soaked and many of my cactus are showing signs of water out stress, and to think I get to drive in this stuff today.
ReplyDeleteI think if I had choice I would of rather woken up seeing all of that white stuff out of my window instead of more rain.
Nice Photos though.
Most of our snow has melted in the last three days with the mild weather we've been having. It's so weird to think there is snow in California.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed the view!
Hugs,
Sophie
Hi Janet,
ReplyDeleteHappy new year to you!
These photos are amazing. You've really captured the temperature there. lol
We are finally having some our summer down the bottom of Oz where I live but up the top they have non stop rain and some major towns are now blocked off from the rest of the world.
Hugs,
Anna
how very exciting!! make art about this!!
ReplyDeleteI would love to wake up to the scene that has greeted you this morning Janet.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos.
It looks so pretty! My daughter has snow too. Though it was predicted for our elevation (and the kids saw flakes on their way here), all we've seen so far is more rain...
ReplyDeleteWishing you lots of wonder and beauty this year. Have a safe, happy, healthy and prosperous New Year, Janet!
Hugs
incredible, if I hadn't seen it here I don't know if I would have believed it. what crazy weather seems to be crossing our nation!
ReplyDeleteI'm astounded. I'd heard about NORTHERN California. And South Carolina. But not South California. Stunning to the max!
ReplyDeleteWell, look at it this way, Janet; it can't get much worse and you have the entire year ahead of you to enjoy the warmth. In the meanwhile, I'm so glad you got these pretty pictures to memorialize the snowy moment.
ReplyDeleteHoly SNOWFLAKES,Batman ! owiw Janet ...that is really a big surprize, huh! LOL we had snow here too on Christmas!.....Happy New Year to you!
ReplyDeletemakes me think theres still hope for us,maybe we'll have a white christmas in july this yr! lol! enjoy the cold weather and lovely snow!
ReplyDeleteOuch. I should have taken photos of my car the other day. I was scraping frost off the windows. Not exactly snow, but just as cold. I'm glad we are back to 70 temps now, for awhile. Snow in Southern Cal. Imagine that! I mean, just IMAGINE that!!
ReplyDeleteOMG!! I'm from So Cal and your pictures shocked me! Amazing! I now live in WA and have had enough snow for one year, thank you. Well, I'm sure it will not last long. Enjoy until the sun comes back!
ReplyDeleteLOL It is cold here in sunny Az. too
ReplyDeleteWe just aren't acclimated to it so it seems extra cold to us doesn't it?
We got it too! Plus really frigid temps. Woke to 20 degrees. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Happy New Year friend.
ReplyDeleteOh Janet! You were one of the lucky ones that got snow! Whoo hoo! We are too close to the ocean to get it. It feels like snow out there though! It's so chilly and wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the gorgeous pictures and thanks so much for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment about my new furbaby. I am so happy.
Big hugs,
Holly

ReplyDeleteWOW!! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow Janet! Welcome to my world...
ReplyDeleteThe good thing about yours is that it will go away really fast and it does look pretty while it's happening.
