Before and After....

Ok, I've worked and worked on this girl that I showed you yesterday, and this is the best I can do. I wish I had made the background darker to begin with but it isn't. And I didn't want to change the color of her hair too much.

I worked on her chin and her eyes quite a bit. I made the left eye smaller and if you look close enough you can see where I repaired it....

And just for comparison, here they are side by side....

I'm sure I could still improve on her but after awhile I get tired of looking at the same thing! I'm ready to move on to the next project. I think this one is A Little Bird Flew By....

  1. Wow! If I could paint a face this nice, I would call it wonderful, and give it to my Hubby for a Valentine. I see in her hair and face, a perfect heart, and the little bird is chirping LOVE. Janet, I wish I had the confidence to just grab a canvas, and start painting like you do!

  8. I like the after, the changes that you made really enhance it. I know what you mean about getting tired of looking at something. I have been there many times.

I really liked all of the pages you painted, great colors and texture. I am getting a little tired of sewing and ready to paint something.

  15. I think your changes have been good ones - personally I'd be delighted to be able to draw a face of any description. I'm afraid that drawing is not numbered among my talents:)

  16. Your use of color simply dazzles me, Janet. You just have "it," whatever "it" is! Lovely! Like your showing the progression. I always forget to take pix along the way!

  18. She's beautiful, Janet. She reminds me of something I did in high school decades ago but yours is much more sophisticated and complete. My teacher hated it. I knew she was wrong back then and your mature work proves the 15 year old girl I was back then was absolutely right on. I have a thought and I'm writing to you privately.
