Messes Lead to Creating....

Instead of cleaning my work table I just made it worse!! Remember I showed you what it looked like a couple of days ago....well, here it is this morning!

But the reason it's such a disaster zone is that I've been creating a little bit so that's a good thing. Clean-up can always happen later!

I started a few ATCs. I haven't done any for a long time and I found a paper that I'd painted and thought it would be a good starting point for some ATCs so I cut it up....here's where I am with them....

Sorry about the panty ad! I use catalogs as "clean" areas when I'm working. I can just turn a page and have a clean surface especially when I'm working on small items.

And here's a sneak peek at something else I'm working on....

I couldn't get the colors to come out as rich as they are in person but you can get an idea. Today I plan to continue with these projects and maybe do something else. I woke up this morning with new ideas. Don't you love when that happens!!

  1. Oh Boy Oh Boy! I love your creative mess. All my flat surfaces look more cluttered than yours, and I am working on the kitchen table because I've cluttered myself out of a work space. Your ATCs look great, and I love the colors in the piece in progress. Have a great week-end!

  2. I love it when I awake with a new creative idea - or a feeling that I "just have to create something today!!!"

  5. I always work better when my studio is a mess...every time I clean it up, I can never find anything.
    I'm really liking your ATC's.

  6. Artists are not supposed to be neat freaks. If there was nothing on your creativity table it would be boring. Mess looks good! Well, as long as it is your art table and not your living room, huh?? :)

I think the idea of using a catalog as a surface is brillant I think I am going to steal it form you.

  10. If it was clean you wouldn't be creating. Lots of very pretty art comes from your work table.

  12. I love messy! My work space seems to get smaller and smaller when I am working as the paints and pens take over. Your new ATC's are looking great and I love the colors in your new piece, it looks very interesting. Thank you for commenting on my blog.

  13. My workspace is continually messy. Having all the stuff out helps the creative process. The only thing I hate is when a whole stack of stuff crashes down.

  14. Love that beginnings of your ATC's fun colors. I don't feel quite so bad about my messy studio now (no offense), yours might be messier than mine. I have had lots of company over the past week and have had a hard time visiting blogs, I think I'm back.

  15. Yes I do LOVE when this happens. We get in our little blocks, but then the opposite happens--and it's SO good! Love what you're working on--but I have to get off of this computer, because I've been planning all weekend to clean up MY art room--I haven't even touched it yet!

  16. Ahhh, it's not so bad. I work in a partial basement room so I throw stuff all around...I won't show you my mess. I like the ATC's you are starting on...I've been thinking of trying to make some to trade soon.
