Success and Some Maintenance....

When I left you last, my studio was in a mess. I worked for the past three days and finally have it looking good again. I got rid of quite a lot of stuff and plan to sort through even more now that I can find everything!

My "clean" work area looks like this now....

and my painting area looks like this....

I still have lots to do but at least I can do some art now without spending half the day just clearing a spot to work.

I thought I'd better get this posted today because I won't be able to use the computer tomorrow. The local power company is doing "maintenance" in our area all day tomorrow so they've told us the electricity may be off between the hours of 8 AM and 5 PM....maybe for the entire day or just intermittently throughout the day. So that means I won't be turning on the computer....or anything else for that matter. Maybe I'll just spend the day making art. That sounds good to me.

So you won't hear from me tomorrow unless it's in the evening but I'll try to be back on Wednesday with something artsy to show you.No more boring studio posts!

  1. Lovely and neat, Janet...now you have room to breathe. I hate trying to work on a cluttered/cramped desk too. Have a fun day creating tomorrow and I hope you won't have to be without power for the whole day.

  2. Studio posts are not boring! I love seeing where other artists create.
I have been cleaning also and my "studio" area is much better now. Feels good to just get down and create without having to pu a bunch of stuff away!

  3. I agree with Sophie, studio posts are never boring, but inspiring.
Hope your power isn't off to long, at least it isn't real hot there yet. Happy creating.

  5. Lovely clear working space. I have my mess nearly all cleared up too. I just have piles of washing now to put away. Now that you can spread yourself about a bit I bet you produce something amazing. Go for it girl.

  8. Yesterday I came home sick, but felt OK enough to sit in on a web conference that was being streamed. Most of the time I stayed atmy computer, but there was one boring speaker and I got the art table cleared off! That's a start. Since you are one of my inspirations, maybe tonight I can put art stuff into production. Probably not -- but soon!

  11. Wow, that's a long time to go without power! Your studio looks great, and ready for some fun. I totally enjoy studio posts, whether highlighting messy OR organized spaces...both are interesting to me!

  12. I agree with others that studio posts are not boring. It's like being nosy but without the guilt. The question is, how long will your studio stay like this?

  13. be a child again, like the child that had his xbox taken away for a day, get out and play. the one thing i love about blogging is following everyone and keeping up with the comments, but the one thing i don't like is all the time spent looking at a computer. maybe if it was attached and we could just talk into it we could work while blogging.

  16. let me know how that clean thing works out for you. My spcae is begining to look like a scene from a bad horror movie. It's time for a major clean-up. I'll do a Scarlett O'Hara and think about that tomorrow.
I think my mojo is starting to come back a little so I hope to update more often with stuff to show. It's been a very un-creative year for me. The fog is lifting a bit as the months pass.
Hope your temps aren't too high during the power blip.
