The Long Weekend....

HB and I went to do the final hanging of my art in the hair salon only to find someone had locked the door to Angel's studio. So now I have to wait until she returns from her vacation on Tuesday to see when we can get back in to finish. But never fear....I will post pictures when I get it all finished.

In the meantime here is another one of the 12" x 12" canvases I did over my break....

I like the colors in this one and it was a bit easier to get a photograph of it. Also while I was on my break I did some sketching. Here's one of the crazier ones I did....

Later I may turn this into a painting....maybe with a little bit less headdress ornamentation though!

I hope everyone is having an enjoyable weekend and for those of us in the US it's a long one because of Labor Day.

lovely,, so exciting about the art on display!Your new work is beautiful and I also find the colors beautiful,, very fall like.I love the sketch as well,, she's lovely and very exotic,,Have a great long weekend.

  2. I like your new work. I'm not really a fan of the brown colours but I love brown and blue together. The butterfly and "honey design" represent the last of summer to me. Your sketch looks great too. Can't wait to see your art on those walls.

  3. love those paintings, cant wait to see your display . We also have a long weekend, but of course we have a long weekend every day (lol)
Taking a little break from the blog

  4. Art on display..Sounds like fun and exciting.
Hope you have a good Labor Day.

  5. Hi Janet - It's been a while I know... Went back an read all your posts I had missed. I actually like the idea of all your art set up along the mantel. It really packs a creative punch. It must be so exciting to be installing your fab art at the salon - how fun for you! Can't wait to see it there. I really loved your blue and brown journal spread you did on your break too - journaling is the only thing I've been playing with recently.

  8. Hi Janet,
Wow, I know its been a while since I've blogged but you've done sooo many creative pieces here.
Well done on the icad project.
Also the canvases for the salon are great.
    Creative hugs,

  9. Hi Janet. That's a bummer. Is this the hair Dressing shop you get your hair done at? Isn't that a drive for you? I can't wait to see the pictures when you can hang them in the shop! Hugs and blessings.

  10. Oh I like the colours in this canvas Janet, and the bright blue accents it so well. All those lovely layers!
Lovely sketch, I would like to see it as a painting. She has a regal feeling about her.
