She's Having a Bad Hair Day!

When it was first suggested to try drawing with my non-dominant hand, I thought "how will that be interesting?" But thankfully, I gave it a try and I LOVE doing it now. In fact, I can't stop! I now have a little stack of weird faces to play with.

Here's my latest one. I'm calling it She's Having a Bad Hair Day

Her pear-shaped face is what I like most. I'm not finished with her yet but so far I'm happy. This one was transferred to some watercolor paper and some of the phone book page stuck before I could get it off so there's more of it showing on the one side....but I kinda like it that way. Just a little more texture.

Seems she's having the same problem I have some days....that one piece of hair that won't co-operate!

Have a fun weekend and I'll see you on Monday....

  1. This one is cool. It impress me what you can create using your not dominant hand. I really admire the way you use the colours in the faces.Even more interesting with that paper behind her. Have fun with your stack of faces. Can't wait to see the result of all your creativity.

  2. I love these gals with their colours! There is something so different and refreshing about them. I tried using my non dominant hand once and it was pretty terrible.

  6. I love this one! Very impressive work, dominant hand OR non-dominant hand. I agree that the hair salon would be a GREAT place to put her on display!

  11. DaVinci used non dominant hand to stretch himself and open other side of brain etc... It is great exercise but hard to do. You did a fantastic job!

  14. Hi Janet...I love this girl! And I love her hair...that gives her added pizazz! I'm really liking using my non-dom hand too. I used Mod-Podge on my transfers...works great! I did have problems using MP when I glued the entire page down and didn't transfer...the paper wrinkled...but I think if I'd let it dry, the wrinkling wouldn't have happened. Later...

  15. What fun playtime this is Janet! Great exercise! If I weren't such a perfectionist I would try it, and I should try it, but to be honest I probably won't try it because I am such a perfectionist! :)

  17. I love her! I love the color, face shape, the hair is really outstanding. I am lucky to do something with my dominant hand...it can get into trouble with most anything. Big Hugs, Mary

  18. I like everything about her. Her expression is priceless! BTW - I think it's a good hair day when hair does't lay boringly as it should, but has personality (at least that's how what I tell myself daily). Lovely!
