I've made it through one week of AEDM! And it's been fun. Each day I've challenged myself to get up first thing in the morning and create something.
Today it was another spread in my art journal. I'm trying to get back into the habit of working in it daily. The pages I did today may or may not be finished. Somehow they seem to be lacking something plus you know I always have trouble adding words to my pages.
I started off with a few smears of paint. Then I added a stencil....just some plastic canvas stuff, and used a red Adirondack color wash spray.
Then two flowers from a paper napkin....
Some scrapbook paper yielded a few more flowers....
And that's where I left it. I love the background and texture so I did a collage of the photos. You can click on it to see some of the designs in the background.
And here are the final photos of this spread....
I'll probably look at these pages for awhile and decide if I want to write anything on them. If not, then they'll stay just as they are.

janet, I love the page, pink and red are some of my fav colors, the stencil is great
ReplyDeletethe colors are amazing and the txture makes it wonderful,,
ReplyDeletegorgeous!!!! I'm forever making "backgrounds" and then not doing anything with them. I think I like painting papers more than I like journaling...
ReplyDeleteYour spread is beautiful! Great images, colors, and textures. I don't know if alphabet stamps are your style, but I can see a big headline across the page, with some handwritten text underneath. You have a great background here to work with!
ReplyDeleteAwesome textures!
ReplyDeleteoooo!! such juicy vibrant colors!! I have wanted to try those Adirondack sprays for some time..they look luscious!! xxx
ReplyDeleteLove the background stencil! Looks great!
ReplyDeleteOh!! I see that your art was in Artful Blogging!!! Amazing!
ReplyDeleteSuch gorgeous colors. I love it, all the layering is really beautiful. I looks great without anything else. I know I often like to leave pages and then see what I add to them later on.
ReplyDeleteI love the step by step way you show how you achieve your pages! the colours on this one just pops! love it!
ReplyDeleteHi Janet, Looks great. I enjoyed your process too, Ev
ReplyDeleteLove the griddiness of the stencil and this is one of my favourite colour combos. Great spread!
ReplyDeletethese pages caught my eye immediately. love the color combination...makes me happy!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pages!
ReplyDeleteHi...Great colors! The stenciling adds a lot! I founds some great journaling prompts over at Squidoo but I'm not much of a writer.
ReplyDeleteMary
this is beautiful!
ReplyDeletepink and red, napkins and stencils!
I've often been thinking of why always write on the pages. I think yours are great as they are. Lots of elements but still quiet and warming. The squared background works very well here.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, this is gorgeous! And one of my all-time favorite color combinations - I just got a new Moleskine which I am thrilled about - thanks for the inspiration to actually open it up and use it ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd I agree - Bloggers are the BEST! Thank you! xoxo
it's amazing how it all takes shape with just a few strokes of paint. great colors.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great pair of journal pages. The colors are so rich & work very well with the textures!
ReplyDeleteAs you know I am a bit partial to layering and I love the layers you have put together. The colours are so happy and the flowers give it the touch of spring that we are in at the moment, especially with our Spring Racing carnival and all the beautiful flowers and hats. Lovely page Janet
ReplyDeleteLee:)
Love the bright colors. I haven't tried the Adirondack color sprays. They look lovely and sound like they'd be fun to play with, though. Congratulations on over a week of AEDM!
ReplyDeleteHi Janet,
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, Wonderful page with all the layering. The napkin tops it off nicely!
Have a great weekend,
Hugs,
Anna
