Dabbling in the Studio...

There has been a lot of dabbling going on in the studio...just not much of anything finished except some journal pages. Recently I saw a picture of some art that looked simple...it was in an ad someplace and now I can't remember where. I tried it on a small scale...

The one I saw was a big picture hanging over a sofa but mine is only 8" x 10". It's ok but it needs something. Maybe different colors. Then I started on another bigger canvas with some bright colors...

I'm not sure where it's going
but this is as far as I've gotten with it.

And then I did a journal spread today...

I like the colors...

and the designs...

It's mostly just a background right now. It needs something else. I'm having a difficult time getting back into the habit of creating. Plus the weather is heating up and that always changes things for me.

Tomorrow I'm taping several hours of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. It must be my English heritage because I'm fascinated by her.

  2. You've been really productive lately.
Your all over design looks great and that canvas is interesting too. I too like the colours of the spread abowe. Far too long since I made something in my journal. Perhaps it's about time to try.

  9. I love all three of those! I always get stuck on the "something else" part. I adore making backgrounds. I have notebooks full of backgrounds and no text or images.

  12. Dabbling is what I too have been doing. Sometimes it is fun and other times I feel like I am accomplishing nothing at all. Your beginnings look wonderful. I recognize that orange peach colors that I used recently. What fun.

  13. Hi Janet...I really like those journal pages you have done. I think your abstract piece is great!!! I have one started and don't know what else to do to it. I love british humor and drama...I also have English heritage on my mother's side. If you want a good English drama, get "Downton Abbey." It opens with the sinking of the Titantic... we are up to the 1920's now. We were watching it on Netflix but ended up buying Season One and Two...they are filming Season Three now. It's was first shown on PBS.
    Cheers,
    Mary
