Experimenting...

I've been experimenting and playing around. I have a canvas that was covered with strips from magazine pages and it's been sitting here for a few weeks. I had muted down the colors by rolling a cream colored paint over the entire thing. Yesterday I began pouring paint over it and this is what I have now...

I used red, silver, and black paints to cover this. I like it! I could see this done with brighter colored strips in the background and different colors of dripping paints. (The lettering is not on the actual painting.)

Is it just me...do you like this??
Or is it too messy for you?

  7. Hi Janet, very interesting path you're onto with this one. First thing I saw was alot of treetrunks. Some shadows in the black area and you would have your own beautiful wood.

I think I prefer the pastel work but I like the idea of the last piece, that's one of my problems I like it all so it is hard for me to say.

  10. I think the most important aspect of all is what YOU feel about it....that when you stand back and look it or get up the next day and look at it YOU good about it.
    I like it. :)

  14. I like it just the way it is...but you can keep going with that kind of abstractness. Take it as far as you want. You could roll on more cream paint and start with the drips again...or not.

  15. Oh wow... I love this!!!

When you get your studio back together (if i were there i would help you) you should do more of this!

heck, i'd fill the holes in your studio - paint - AND move things back in in exchange for this!

    uh-huh...
