It's coming back slowly...I pulled out some more unfinished projects and painted today. These were done on the sides of a saltine cracker box. The long rectangular shape was what I liked about this cardboard...
When I pulled them out of my WIP box they were just lightly sketched onto the cardboard.
They turned out okay. I didn't do much to their faces...just the basic stuff but I like them. Some of the backgrounds are better than others but I think the girls look cute. I hope you like them, too.

They are so sweet, Janet! From a distance the girl in the blue shirt was my favorite (I DO love your tilted-head girls, don't I?), but when you showed them one by one, I really like ALL of them quite well. I can't believe you use a Saltine-box substrate...now, that's creative re-use!
ReplyDeleteJanet, these are truly beautiful. This kind of paintings are your watermark for me. Somehow you always get your girls to look individual. I simply love them all!
ReplyDeleteThe girls are cute! They make me smile and I wonder what they are up to!!!!
ReplyDeletethats a great start... the girls are very cute!
ReplyDeleteCute girls! Sorry I've been away so long - but hopefully am back now!
ReplyDeleteThese ladies are adorable....I love them...they look great close up too!! Maybe you needed a break to start in a new direction...
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday!

These ladies are so lovely and expressive. Welcome back! I never throw any of my empty food boxes away now, as they are always so great for painting on, at no extra cost.
ReplyDeleteHi! Janet. As always your girls are beautiful, I love them.
ReplyDeleteI think the backgrounds are perfect because your girls are the subject.
Congratulation!!
Very cute! And I'm so glad that you started creating again! xo
ReplyDeleteGood for coming back -- you are so much more back than I!
ReplyDeleteI really like these - like a group of gal pals! Great idea to use the cracker box as your substrate. The mojo is back!
ReplyDeleteXO
I like how you do more than the head of the girl....you pulled it off....it difficult for me to do.

I like all the poses and shapely figures, they too all have wonderful personalities. Great work.
