Starting Another Painting...

Maybe almost a year ago I put some crumpled tissue paper over a canvas and then didn't know what else I wanted to do with it so the canvas sat in my studio. This morning I pulled it out and began splopping paint on it...

 I used Golden's fluid acrylics.

This is a close up of all the texture the tissue made.

I'm not 100% sure where this is going yet but I like how it's started.

On another subject, Hurricane Sandy is getting pretty nasty. I'm keeping all my friends on the east coast in my thoughts and hope they are all safe.

  1. Great to see you working again Janet and you always have the opportunity to go over it in white and start again if you are not happy with what you are doing.

  2. I love this, i see all kinds of possibilities

  3. This is interesting, I wonder how it will end. Looks great so far. That hurricane sounds scary, we're lucky enough to never experience that strong winds. Lets hope the best for all the people living in the area!

  4. The texture looks fun...can't wait to see where this goes!

  5. Hi Janet...I love where you are going with this...and Leticia (below) is wonderful. I like doing monochromatic pieces worked for you! Also, I appreciate how you store you stencils...I need to do that(sometime, when I get caught up) have been busy...good for you!!!

  6. These colors are terrific, Janet! As always, it will be fun to watch your creativity.
Hurricane Sandy was huge. We were relatively lucky in SE Massachusetts, we got a lot of wind and rain. Our power was out for a day and a half. It could have been a lot worse. I guess New York and New Jersey were hit very hard. I haven't been able to see much of the news, so it's difficult to know the extent of the damage.

  7. This is really pretty Janet, I like it a lot, the colours are great.

  8. Lots of great color, fun texture, what more would an artist want? It will be fin to see where you take this piece.

  9. Janet! You have been a busy lady since I last stopped by..looking at your side bar ... all that you have been published!! Good job!
Congrats! Keep that creative energy flowing girl!
    love and light Anna

  10. Such bold colores, I really like where this seems to be going, can't wait to see what you do with this piece. Also really liked the lady with the curl, and I remember the poem.

  11. A lot of fun color and texture after calm and monochromatic girl with a curl. I love them both! It's so nice that you are back in the studio! I committed to creating/posting every day in November. I know you did that for a very long time and I enjoyed following your daily art :-)
