I Need a Break!!

After my art disaster a couple of days ago, I decided it might be time to take a little blog break! I have some projects that I need to finish (Laila, yours is one of them!) and I owe several people some postcards so I think I'll just take some time and devote myself to art.

Plus I got that great little Cinch spiral binding machine for Christmas and I still haven't used it all that much. I need to get busy with it and make some journals. And the weather is beginning to heat up and you all know I don't do HOT! It makes me lazy and lethargic. Every summer I go through this for a few months.

I'll still try to pop in and visit when I have the time, and I'll still answer emails but I won't be posting for a little while. See ya later.....................................

Another Disaster in the Studio!!

I have several pieces of finished art that are done on watercolor paper. I had the "brilliant" idea that if I adhered them to a canvas I could add them to the art for the salon. Sounded like a great idea at the time...not so much now. For some dumb reason I started with one of my favorites! Yeah, I'm not always the sharpest knife in the drawer!!

I wonder what other drastic mistakes I can make in the studio today! And when will I learn to practice on something I don't care about before jumping in with both feet?!! Lesson learned...I hope!

Dabbling in the Studio...

There has been a lot of dabbling going on in the studio...just not much of anything finished except some journal pages. Recently I saw a picture of some art that looked simple...it was in an ad someplace and now I can't remember where. I tried it on a small scale...

The one I saw was a big picture hanging over a sofa but mine is only 8" x 10". It's ok but it needs something. Maybe different colors. Then I started on another bigger canvas with some bright colors...

I'm not sure where it's going 

but this is as far as I've gotten with it.

and the designs...

It's mostly just a background right now. It needs something else. I'm having a difficult time getting back into the habit of creating. Plus the weather is heating up and that always changes things for me.

Tomorrow I'm taping several hours of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. It must be my English heritage because I'm fascinated by her.
