Some BIG things...

I hope you all had a good day yesterday. Since it was Wednesday, HB and I spent the day running errands and doing our grocery shopping. It was a beautiful day to be out and about. I stopped at the library to pick up some books and they were having a book sale. Naturally I had to take a peek.

This is what I bought...only two books but they're just what I wanted.

A world atlas and a book on anatomy.

I placed the ruler on the atlas so you could see the size.
These are BIG books!
I plan to use the anatomy book for drawing help
and will most likely turn the atlas into a journal.

While we were out I also sent off the round robin journal.

I used some painted paper to cover the front of the envelope.
Several people at the post office commented on it.

Recently in the studio I began prepping a BIG 30" x 40" canvas.

I had to stand on my two-step ladder to reach the entire thing. I covered it with book pages first and here I'm adding a light coat of gesso. I have a plan for it and it's not a face!

That's all I have today. I've been cleaning the studio this morning and I found all sorts of unfinished WIPs. I guess I better get busy on some of them. See you tomorrow...

  6. I'm new to your site and found you because you so kindly commented on my artistic efforts. I scrolled through lots of your posts and found that I really enjoy your artistic view and the fun, experimental way your approach it. Looking forward to seeing more.

Another option for the Google replacement might be "The Old Reader".com I signed up for Feedly but don't totally love it and this is another one I've heard of....haven't tried it yet, but you might give it a look. We'll all sure miss Reader -

    1. This is the first canvas I've had that's this big. I've done some other things that were somewhat big but nothing like this.

  8. They've all said it before me, BIG. To simply say I'm curious wouldn't cover it all, but it's the best I can come up with. It's so good seeing you have all that fun!

    1. Yes, I love the books...but then I don't think I ever met a book I didn't like! I can either read them or use them in art so they're all fair game.

    1. We usually have a pretty good library book sale. In the past I've really scored some great books. This time I didn't have a lot of time to look but was still able to find just what I wanted.
