Leveraging My Art...

It's been awhile since I've posted. I've been busy with all kinds of things around the house plus the painting group and so many other things. Life seems to be going faster and faster and I'm spinning around like a top. But it's all good.

Recently I've been trying to leverage my art. I showed you some of the faces I had printed out last month so here's what I did with them...

I used washi tape on the edge of this one.

More washi tape on this edge.

I like the edge of this one.

This one is on a plaque from the Dollar Store.

I adhered them to wood and to canvas boards to make art that I can hang in the salon. Many of these were originally done on paper. Several of them were postcards. Now I've added other papers and washi tapes to jazz them up a bit and they're going to the salon tomorrow.

    1. The girl with the hat over her eyes is probably three years old at least, and it's HB's favorite.

    1. I only recently found this painting group and up until then I had no one around here that was creative. It makes a difference to be around other artists.

  7. These are all so cheerful, and I especially love the one with text: Be Strong. She's a darling. New and different way to present your work, you really have given them a new life too. What a luck you found that painting group, it can be so inspiring working together with other people.

  12. Nice job, Janet. Love the washi on the side -- does it stick well, or do you put a coat of medium over and under it? Smart woman, you are.

    1. Jeanie, I put matte medium over and under it. So far that seems to work.

  17. These are awesome Janet. I am doing a small table top and maybe that washi tape is just what I need for the finished edges. I had not heard of it before. Probably seen it, and didn't know what it was. Now I do.

I think your "girls" are perfect for the salon. Especially that last one....she seems like the "before" of a before and after salon visit. The salon people should really pick up on that and use it to their (and your) advantage. I am envious of all your wonderful work. xoxo
